Troubleshooting steps when linking your Professional Instagram Account to Photoboxx

Helpful tips and workarounds to try if you are having trouble linking up or authenticating your Professional Instagram Account to Photoboxx.

When linking your Instagram Business Account to Photoboxx, you may have run into an issue of your Instagram Business Account not showing in the list of accounts. (Either it is blank or you have other accounts showing, but not the one you want)

Unfortunately there are some known bugs on Facebook's Graph API with this process for some accounts. The good news is that 1) they are continually working on a fix for this issue, and 2) there are a handful of workarounds that you can try to get around this bug.

** We will continue to monitor this workflow and issue with Facebook and update this article as necessary.

Troubleshooting Steps

1. Be Sure that your Professional Instagram Account is Set Up Properly.

  • Make sure your Instagram Account is linked to a Facebook page by setting it up as a Professional Instagram Account.

  • Make sure your Facebook user is an Admin of the linked Facebook page.

2. Reconfirm that your Professional Instagram Account is Linked to the Facebook Page.

  • Log into the Instagram Account via the Instagram mobile app

  • Navigate to the account profile

  • Click on "Edit Profile"

  • Under the "Public Business Information" Section, click on "Page"

  • Click on the relevant page you want to link to just to confirm it. Click "Done".

3. Convert the Professional Instagram Account Back to Personal Account and then Convert Professional Instagram Account

This workaround step was provided directly from facebook and you can do this 3 different ways. After you try each step - try to relink your account on Photoboxx.

1 - Directly through the Instagram mobile app: 

  • Back to Personal:
    Go to Settings -> Tap Switch Back to Personal Account

  • Back to Business:
    Go to Settings -> Tap Switch to Business Profile

2 - Mobile App and Through Facebook Website:

  • Back to Personal - From the Instagram Mobile App:
    Go to Settings -> Tap Switch Back to Personal Account

  • Back to Business - From the Facebook Website:
    Go to the Facebook Page ->  Click Settings (top right) -> Click Instagram (left nav) -> Switch to a Business Profile - Click Get Started


3 -  Directly through the Facebook Page Settings on the FB website:

  • Back to Personal:
    Go to the Facebook Page ->  Click Settings (top right) -> Click Instagram (left nav) -> Scroll down and click Disconnect Instagram Account

  • Back to Business:
    Go to the Facebook Page ->  Click Settings (top right) -> Click Instagram (left nav) -> Login with Instagram - Click Login


4. Add Another Facebook User with an Admin Role Within the Facebook Page Settings

  • Go to the Facebook Page ->  Click Settings (top right) -> Click Page Roles (left nav) -> Assign a New Page Role - type in the user or email - choose Admin - click Add

  • Have that new user try to relink your account on Photoboxx.

5. Remove Photoboxx's Access within Facebook from Business Integrations
